The filming and editing of Lemonade are complete. We’ve had a few screenings. People laughed and cried exactly when they should have. I got hugs and thank yous and vigorous handshakes from strangers. Emails are pouring in with requests for screenings all over the world. CBS News With Katie Couric came to the Boston screening.
This 36-minute short film is resonating in a way I hoped for yet couldn’t possibly have fathomed. Now it’s time to show it to people. And not just a few people in a few cities, but lots and lots of people in lots and lots of cities.
But just like Please Feed The Animals, it feels wrong to charge the unemployed to see a film about unemployment. So we’re trying to sign with a sponsor or two that will allow us to travel around the United States and show the film for free.
People have asked how they can help. You know what Lemonade needs more than anything? Your good thoughts. Seriously, just throw one or two bits of positivity out into the ether:
- If you haven’t already, become a fan of the Lemonade Facebook page and join the conversation.
- Tell Michael Moore that he should go to the Detroit screening and support those in Michigan who have felt the effects of the ad industry collapse.
- Tweet your good thoughts with the #lemonademovie hash tag.
- Read this piece in the Huffington Post about what it feels like to lose your job and what it takes to survive.
I’ve felt like the luckiest human alive these past few months. This project has been charmed in every sense of the word.
Let’s keep the momentum going. Your contributions, your energy, your enthusiasm — Lemonade was built on it. And it continues to be.

I am not alone… Thank God!
“Proulx and his co-executive producer Jennifer McKenzie have agreed to keep it free on the Web site, despite the fact that it automatically disqualifies the film from any chance to be entered in documentary competitions.”
Inspiring. I really don’t know how else to describe this amazing effort that is PFTA and Lemonade.
keep on truckin’ soldier… and if you get these sponsors, COME TO ATLANTA!
Just saw on your Facebook fanpage there was a Toronto screening in early December and I never knew about it. Will other dates/screenings be announced in the near future?
