Thank You To The Lemonaders

On Lemonademovie.com, there’s a link to join the email list.

For the next two days, subscribing will get you access to watch Lemonade in its entirety online. Then on Friday 12/15, I’m removing it from the server.

It’s my small way of saying thank you.

  1. Thank you for doing this. I wasn’t sure I was going to have the opportunity to see the film. I watched it twice.

I’ll probably watch it again tomorrow.

Check this out … this article about the large numbers of people laid off in the NASCAR racing business sounds like the world of advertising. Switch the word racing with advertising and it’s the same story:

I enjoyed watching Lemonade. My husband is in the ad business. It is a scary business sometimes, you never know what will happen if accounts are lost. Thank you for adding some prospective that there is life after the ad world. Also, thanks for posting the movie, we live in North Carolina and I did not think we would be able to see it!

I live in Tokyo and just received the DVD which I ordered online.

IT IS WONDERFUL. Such a wonderful spin on potential negative thing.

I personally have stopped looking for a job and started my own company and this film gave me the boost to keep going.

    Thanks!

Just watched the movie and you not only inspired me, but you put a huge smile on my face. Three months ago I quit my perfectly acceptable job, sold my house, got rid of half our belongings and moved to Colorado so I/we (my husband) can bike/ski/run/skip/jump/play more. I’m the person with the LinkedIn page that isn’t getting viewed and the resume that sits in stacks of 1300 getting ignored, but today, thanks to you, I have a spring back in my step. Thank you.

First let me say this was beautiful, gorgeous, tear jerking and inspirational all at once.

As a woman in advertising I have to say I was little disappointed by the overwhelming lean to men. The only full profile of a female was the yoga woman. My wish is that the book version is a bit more diversified and balanced.

And as an FYI — your wife directed to to run down your saving first, then 401(k) then, credit cards. Dude — you NEVER ever touch a 401(k) — it’s like getting 40 cents on the dollar. At least if you have to declare bankruptcy at any time — credit card companies get the short end of the stick. They can’t go after your retirement account.

    Susan,

Thank you for the compliment on the film.

As a woman in advertising, would you grant me that the ratio of women to men in the film is roughly proportionate to the ratio in the industry? I can’t tell you how hard I tried to get more women profiled in the film. It was really difficult.

As for the 401(k) issue, that was our personal decision. Kathryn didn’t direct me. We had a long conversation about it. We want to keep our house and remain here for the rest of our lives, so bankruptcy is the last of the last options. And I have the ultimate confidence in my ability to replenish our retirement in short time. (It’s not like it was that much anyway.)

At the end of the day, we chose today’s happiness over tomorrow’s comfort. And I don’t regret it for a second.

Thanks so much for putting this on-line. As a newbie to the business it was great to see it’s not the only thing out there. No matter what there’s something for everyone.

  13. Hey, I just watched Lemonade on hulu. Congratulations. It’s a wonderful project, beautiful to look at and inspirational. I’m especially pleased because I recently became extraordinarily upset after watching art & copy. So now I’ll root through your blog and PFTA project. Good work!

  14. Hello.

I just wanted to share how absolutely inspirational this film was.

I am a Photo Agent at Canada’s largest studio and work very closely with many AD’s, CD’s, Art Buyers, Print Producers, etc. I watched many colleagues loose there jobs last year and was so stunned every time. Incredibly talent individuals who had to be let go, was unbelievable.

I believe this film really offers people a fresh approach to change. You become so consumed by this industry that you forget what makes you the person you are. This film made me think.

I want to share this with every person I know.

If I could be one of your Canadian contacts, please let me know. I’d love to PR the hell out of this.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

    And a job well done.

I’ve been anticipating this documentary for some time now. I was so thrilled and inspired that I was able to watch it (for free nontheless) that I wrote a post on it.

Coincidentially that post was chosen as a featured post. I’m this will give not only Lemonade The Movie, but PTFA, and similar ideas of just how important it is to follow your heart, especially in such a jaded industry like ours.

    Many thanks.
