Four Ways To Watch (And Support) Lemonade

1. Come to a screening

It is the purest way to see it. You get to watch Lemonade with a bunch of other folks, most of whom are or have been laid off. Then we get to have a conversation about the film, how it was made, and talk about how you can make your own Lemonade. Usually, there’s some kind of post-viewing party with drinks where ideas get passed around like little bits of energy.

2. Buy the DVD from Lemonademovie.com

These are printed on demand from the supplier (Kunaki) and can be shipped to most countries around the world. For every $9.99 order, Lemonade gets $8.99. It’s a great system that puts a lot of money back into the project. And the end product is pretty fantastic.

3. Buy the DVD from Amazon.com

Some folks prefer the granddaddy of e-commerce over the relative unknown of Kunaki. I can respect that. Plus, they ship to the countries that Kunaki doesn’t. But if you do purchase from Amazon, just know that I’m shipping supply from Kunaki to Amazon anyway. Plus they charge me 55% of every order.

4. Watch Lemonade on Hulu

If you’re unemployed without a steady income, this is the way to go. (You must also live in the US.) The ads are short and not unbearably placed. And you can watch it as many times as you want for free.  If you need a little on-demand inspiration, Hulu is perfect. And if you like it, make sure you leave a review. It matters.

  3. I cannot stress enough how pleased I was to see you sticking 100% to the PFTA mission by utilizing Hulu for Lemonade.

“If you’re unemployed without a steady income, this is the way to go.”

Knowing how much you have sunk into this, and not just dollars, it was huge of you to offer the movie, in its entirety, for free somewhere.

  5. Just FYI… Lemonade is Prime Eligible on Amazon so I’m going to order it from there. Free faster shipping can’t be beat. I did see the give button on lemonademovie.com, so I will drop some of the difference in.

Love that you have it on Hulu as well. Will definitely spread the word.

This film was such an inspiration to me. Seeing so many talented folks go out and follow their dreams, never to look back at the agency world, takes a lot of courage. I watched it on Hulu during the private screening, then the free screening, then bought the DVD! Thank you for creating this film, it’s a true glimmer of hope in what some would consider a dark time.

Thank you so much for offering this movie on Hulu! I just heard about it through a graphic designers forum and watched it today. I was laid off from my job as a web designer at a firm a little over two weeks ago. At first I was in panic mode. Then, I started going into appreciative mode, because I started pondering the possibilities of what I can do with my life. This movie just affirms what I was beginning to think and really gave me another breath of inspiration. Thank you!

Thanks for this thoughtful and inspiring video. I did wonder, however, if you ever considered broadening your viewpoint to include more racial and socio-economic diversity?

I just watched this movie through Hulu (sorry I’m unemployed!, lol but promise I will buy a copy!)and I tweeted and facebooked it!

While watching this, it took a lot to fight back some tears. I got laid off in April 09 after in Dec 08 being told I was and I quote “the best worker” and given a nice bonus. It was shattering and it simply just didn’t make sense to me (it still doesn’t)

I have been trying to figure out the whole “future” thing since then while doing freelance work. Just about a week ago I finally decided it’s time start doing instead of just dreaming. I want to use my skills to help other people.

This movie is such a wonderful “pep talk”. I just watched it two times in a row. Thank you for doing this project.

  20. I have watched this movie about 5 times now on Hulu and it really changed the way I am thinking about like. Its not that I don’t love designing, I mean… its my career, but it doesn’t make me totally happy. I am starting to venture into another direction… cupcakes. I have started with that I know best, a web site, and I am starting to market to agencies in the Boston area. Thank you for the “CLICK” moment as the lights come on. And if you need any cupcakes, I owe you a Dozen Lemonade Team!

I live in the UK and was lucky enough to watch the preview. Got made redundant last summer from a job I loved… having a family to feed I had to found a job quickly in the same industry. I still believe that one day I will be able to do something more rewarding than trying to sell some over price products to the masses. Good luck with the film…
