After my wife quit her job teaching at a university so we could relocate for what we thought was a major career move to a remote area, we found ourselves in a position of both loving where we now live and a sense of "OMG-WTF do we do HERE NOW?!!" I've been trying to create product in training creative professionals (DVD videos and speaking/training gigs) as well as finishing up a book that's both practical application and history of the special FX industry. I am looking to freelance creative and production - but leaning toward developing a new media marketing company up here in Ojai, focusing on marketing & PR of other creatives and green business. All thanks to the web. When people work in an office they email the guy in the next cube so why not in another state or even country. In broadcast we prep a job then fly to a location and then go to the edit. It works no matter where we live. Good talent can work where ever they are needed.
